Patrick Quinn was the first of our Quinn family to arrive in Australia. In the 1830's he shipped to Sydney Town then married at Five Islands on Lake Macquarie Selina Lought. Patrick died in Glen Innes in 1989 aged 74 years. His working life involved him as a Sawyer and a Bell Man. He also prospected for Gold. These few facts are augmented by newspaper articles published about his first son Hugh Quinnin in the Glen Innes Examiner to tell this tale as seen through the eyes of Hugh Quinn 1842 - 1915.
