Private John Love NSW Corps travelled with wife, Martha and 6 year old daughter Elizabeth in the Third Fleet sent to NSW. The 3rd fleet of 9 ships sailed 27 March 1791 following a Contract signed in Nov 1790 with Camden Calvert & King who had also contracted for transport of convicts in the Second Fleet. They were chosen for their experience as slavers carring slaves from Africa to America. 

The 450 ton Matilda made the trip in a record 127 days. Even so, 24 of its transportees died at sea. The Matilda also carried Captain Weatherhead Ensign  20 privates of the NSW corps (p365) Matilda then whaled off Jervis Bay spotting  many but bad weather stopped the chase.
